Positive Parenting Group- Oakland
Designed to help parents of any aged child and caretakers of children (aunts, uncles, grandparent's etc.) parent their children in a positive and healthy manner. The course follows an 8-week curriculum designed by staff of NAHC borrowed from a number of developmental materials including the "Positive Indian Parenting" curriculum used by National Indian Child Welfare Association. The Material in this curriculum is used by National Indian Child Welfare Association. The material in this curriculum has been developed through extensive consultation with tribal elders, Native social welfare professionals and parents.

Grief and Loss Support Group- Richmond
The Grief and Loss Talking Circle provides grief education and support to those in the community who have lost a loved one or are going through a difficult time. It is a place to talk and listen with others who share similar stories and who can offer each other help in moving through the grieving process. Each week different aspects of grief and adjustment to dealing with a loss are discussed and this group will look closely at how to cope with this issue from a Native perspective in order to provide participants a healthy and positive approach to dealing with their situation. This group meets every Wednesday from 2pm-4pm.

The Recovery Group allows participants to come together to share and be educated on how to begin or continue their journey through the recovery process. The purpose of this group is to show that being healthy emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually is necessary in order to be successful at keeping one’s balance when walking the red road of sobriety. Cultural tools and resources from Native American tradition will be utilized each week.

2010 NAHC Powwow
Come join the community as we sing, dance and spend time together at the powwow. This year's event will be held on Treasure Island - a beautiful venue for a powwow! There will be contest dancing, special performances, food and vendor booths to browse while you are there.
