HNWC Honors Our Community

The Healthy Nations Wellness Center (HNWC) is proud to honor four local community members for their efforts to improve their personal health and wellness through increased physical activity and better nutrition. Our community gym, located at 1423 Fruitvale Avenue in Oakland, is need of community support in order to keep its doors open. By highlighting a few of the individuals who have made a difference by using the gym services, we hope to inspire the community to take advantage of this amazing resource and not let it slip away.

The honoring ceremony will include:
  • Speakers
  • Refreshments
  • Demonstrations of some of the classes and activities offered at HNWC
So please, spread the word!

The honoring ceremony will take place from 1pm to 3pm on Thursday, June 4th, at the Healthy Nations Wellness Center. Please consider joining us as we give recognition to these community members who have made changes in their lives to improve their own personal health and wellness.

Also, if we want to keep the doors of the Healthy Nations Wellness Center open then we all need to pitch in and do what we can. The gym will be offering new and exciting classes in the near future, will be establishing American Indian gym groups for buddy time at the gym and for group sessions, and will be finding new and creative ways to help you stay in shape. To do this, though, we need your support!

If you would like to RSVP for the June 4th event, please give us a call. Also, if you would like more information about how you can help keep the gym open, please call us and we will chat with you about how you can get involved.
