Position Summary:

The Data Entry Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day collection, reviewing and inputting of clinical data into i2iTracks and other electronic database systems, prepping patient charts with current Clinical Flowsheets, as well as assisting with Panel Management of patients.  The Data Entry Coordinator works as part of multidisciplinary team and ensures accurate audit reporting and clinical care by focusing on data quality control and process improvement.

Specific Responsibilities:

1.      Performs data entry into i2iTracks, Health Pro, RPMS or other database systems, in a manner that ensures completeness and accuracy of clinical data in a timely manner.

2.      Maintain absolute integrity of clinical data sets.

3.      Develop and maintain a daily work plan that tracks activities and deadlines.

4.      Interface with and provide progress reports to management.

5.      Extract and compile clinical reports to routine or ad hoc requests for various agencies, management and clinical staff.

6.      Works closely with the Clinical Data Manager in the coordination and completion of all required I.H.S. data information to complete audits and the GPRA report. Work with Clinical Data Manager and Clinic Manager on necessary expansion of the patient flow sheets, computer fields, and any required items that are tracked.  This position will cross-train on data entry task responsibilities so the data information is consistently entered and reviewed.

7.      Assist in clinic as needed. Duties include answering phones, reminder calls, scheduling patients, pulling and filing charts.

8.      Send letters to patients as per providers (MD, NP, RN’s) and Clinical Data Manager.

9.      Communicates with clinical and administrative staff about issues relating to quality and effectiveness of software database and clinical processes.

10. Attend trainings as assigned by the Clinic Manager and Clinical Data Manager.

11. Meet with the Clinical Data Manager on a regular basis to discuss work progress.

12. Any additional tasks assigned by supervisors.

13. The employee shall work well under pressure, meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines.

14. The employee shall at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with supervisors, subordinates, colleagues, and clients.

Qualifications:

1.      High School Diploma or GED required.

2.      College degree in Medical Related Major preferred.

3.      Experience in medical or clinical data entry required. (Candidates with training or certifications will be considered).

4.      Excellent computer skills with knowledge of multiple applications (and/or SQL platform) preferably i2iTracks, RPMS, HealthPro, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. 

5.      Excellent knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-9 guidelines desirable.

6.      Ability to work independently and in a team environment; self-motivation.

7.      Superior attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

8.      Excellent verbal, written, problem solving and interpersonal skills.

9.      Working knowledge and experience in a community clinic environment desirable.

10. Project a mature, professional image and provide responsive, high quality follow-up to internal and external inquiries.
